A vehicle fire was spotted while traveling northbound heading up on 1604 North by Culebra and Shaenfield. A light-colored Toyota Camry had caught fire in the engine bay and began to burn rapidly with flames and smoke covering quite a bit of area. A witness stated everyone was ok and that no one was injured. According to SAPD Officer Castillo, “I think the car may have been stolen, someone said they saw the guys leave the car and jump into another, and then they just took off.” We tried to get more information from the officer if they had any leads on the suspects but no other info was available at that moment.

Crews handling the situation were none other than San Antonio Fire Dept. with B. Ortiz Firefighter on the charged line and SAPD Officer Castillo on the scene, who had been calling in via radio. The fire Crew managed to contain and extinguish the blaze and arrival times were very prompt from both SAPD and SA Fire Dept. no other incidents were reported.
