Yes, you read that correctly, what do your hands do when they go into your pockets? Sources state that “hands in pockets indicate low self-confidence,” but we’re not here to discuss self-esteem, confidence, and such. No, we’re here because we wanted to know exactly what happens.
Do your hands miss each other? Are they open and just kind of floating there in limbo? Do you jingle the change in your pockets, hold your keys, or do you just make a fist and slightly push outward creating a slight bulge in both of your pockets? Do you grab the inside of the pockets and hold on for dear life? We asked a few people and surprisingly they said the most common response we were expecting…, “in our pockets, where else?”
Ok geniuses, it’s not that simple, think a little harder, or maybe, we should just be a little more elaborate on the questions, I think so as it seems the obvious is what some tend to lean towards so easily. Could it be maybe just maybe, your arms are tired and they simply want to just chill for a moment?
Whatever your decision on how you position your hands inside your pockets other professionals will argue the notion that it’s due to low self-confidence.
